In the rural Midwest, many people struggling with a gambling addiction have nowhere to go. North Dakota, for example, only offers three gambling addiction counselors for its 70,000+ square miles, often making support group meetings too far away to attend.
To address the shortage of available services, Lutheran Social Services partnered with KAT Marketing to create Gambler Healing—an online treatment course based on a 12-step recovery process.
Those dealing with a gambling addiction get confidential and convenient support through the self-guided course, all from the comfort of their own homes.
The online course recreates the support group experience through videos, journaling, interactive exercises and testimonials.
